Treatment

If the head injury is severe and the person has lost concsiousness, then it is very important that you call the doctor. The doctor should admit the patient to the hospital for observation for 24 hours. If the injury is less severe, then home observation should be sufficient.

The patient should be watched closely for the first 12-24 hours. Once every so often, the patient should be asked questions such as their name, address etc. If they cannot remember these simple details, then a doctor should be contacted immediately.

Symptoms should dissapear on their own after the first few days or few weeks. Try to rest until the injury is completely healed and try not to put too much strain on the brain. Avoid too much television or reading a book. Avoid physical activity for a while and get lots of physical rest.
