Soccer Passing Drill

First touch is important in a game of soccer, especially if its a fast pace game.

This soccer passing drill, not only will it teach you to pass quickly with your first touch but will also improve your overall ball control. Taking less touches to control a ball will give you more time to think about what to do next.

For this drill you will need:

  • 4 markers
  • 4 people in total
  • 1 soccer ball

Set up the drill area shown in the picture below.

Soccer Passing Drill
Basically, with this exercise, it will be a 3 on 1. One person will stand in the center and try to tackle and win the ball.

The other people will pass it among themselves to try and retain possession.

You must stay in the area marked out.

Whoever loses the ball will switch places with the tackling player.

Keep your passes sharp and try to move around to support the player on the ball.

Most importantly, have fun!
